Households utilizes energy on a daily basis, all day long. It consumes a large percentage of the total energy. Managing the use of the appliances and other home devices should not taken for granted. Here are some helpful tips on how to conserve energy at home and eventually make this as a habit. This will help cut down your energy consumption and lower your electricity bill.

1. Use appliances efficiently
  • Make sure the refrigerator's door is sealed tightly. Set the temperature at 3 to 6 degrees Celcius.
  • Use a microwave oven for cooking or reheating small items
  • In using a washing machine, set the level of the water appropriate to the size of the load. Use cold water to wash and rinse, when practical.
  • Replace aging major appliances with energy-efficient models, when needed.
2. Turn out the lights
  • Do not forget to turn off the light switch when you leave a room

Here are some practical safety and security tips in using the ATM, especially at night.

1. Be aware of your surroundings, particularly at night. If you observe or sense suspicious persons or circumstances, do not use the machine at that time.

2. Have your ATM card out and ready to use. Don't wait to get to the ATM and then take your card out of your wallet or purse.

3. Be careful that no one can see you enter your PIN at the ATM. Use your body to "shield" the ATM keyboard as you enter your PIN into the ATM.

What is Dengue fever (DF)?
Dengue infection is caused by a virus. It occurs commonly as dengue fever. Occasionally the patient suffering from dengue may develop bleeding. Common sites for bleeding are nose, gums or skin.

Sometimes, the patient may have coffee ground vomiting or black stools. This indicates bleeding in gastro intestinal tracts and it is serious. The patient with dengue who has bleeding has dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF). Rarely the patient suffering from dengue may develop shock, then it is called dengue shock syndrome (DSS).
